On Tuesday, Corb had his last day of preschool for the year and it was "water day"! So I put sunscreen on his neck, face, arms and ears. I'm a sunscreen fanatic. However, I realized later on that day when Corb came crying to me about a sunburn that he took his shirt off during "water day". :( DUH MOM! I feel so stupid for mot putting his sunscreen all over his torso! So now, he has BLISTERS on his shoulders and hasn't worn a shirt for 3 days now. The only time he can go outside is when the sun goes down.

In fact, I was planning on taking him out to go get cows with me this morning, but with his bad sunscreen that wasn't going to pan out. :( So he stayed home with shalyce with Ally.

Shaylee keeps on proving herself as a "COWGIRL!" She wasn't afraid to take charge when Jack started to buck today, she tried to stay on, didn't give up, grabbed 1 rein and turned him in a tight circle REAL QUICK and ended that bucking SpreE! YEEHAW! Licorice is gorgeous as ever, take a look at that gorgeous horse of mine! I'm always in awe when I think about Heavenly Father making these gorgeous animals!

My view for 6 hours...

After a 6 hour ride bringing the cows in, I took some pictures of a new calf that was born after we brought the cows in (poor mommy cow). How would you like to walk for 6 hours during labor? So as I am trying to take pictures of the calf, I look up and there's a big heffer charging me. Luckily I am on the other side of the fence! Well, she's #108 and an ornery thing! I named her "crabby pattie" (those of you who've watched spongebob 1 million times might laugh). However I don't think she'll stick around our place much longer with her nasty attitude. She's headed up to the auction in Cedar on Thursday! Soyonara, Crabby! Oh, I wanted to get some pics of Dave taunting her, and she was definately annoyed with him!

This is the new calf.

our weekend

Well, on Friday, Dave had work off so we went shopping and bought Corb a spiderman bike. We should have been more on the ball thinking about his birthday coming up in June, and surprised him with it, but that didn't cross dad's mind until it was too late. Anyway, we put it together last night after trying to see if Corbin would forget about over the weekend in hopes of a birthday present, but to no avail, he cried and cried thinking that we lost his spiderman bike. Dad "found" it in the garage. So at 10:30 last night, COrbin rode it outside up and down the driveway and sidewalk. Yep it was late, but he was so excited to try it out! It is his first bike and the training wheels are great! I walked with him to preschool this morning while he rode his bike and he's crashed a handful of times, but he's a pretty tough cookie! He just gets up and says "I'm alright mom, I'm tough." Afterwards, this afternoon, Dacen came over with his bike and the boys had so much fun outside. We should have bought him a bike 2 years ago, it's so nice to see him go outside and have fun instead of the boring house:)

Saturday we spent up at the cabin all day long! Kids everywhere, having fun, guys fixing fence, good stuff! I think I might be a little clasterphobic or cabin fever sets in. When I am all cooped up in the cabin waiting on Dave to get finished with work, I have fun, but the fever sets in :( It was kinda chilly Saturday, but not too bad. The boys didn't care to come inside the cabin. They were out in the mud all day:) Shalyce & I went outside for a while to get some fresh air and check on the guys. Check out the garden ( I think it would make a nice arena ). Oh, and how about this sign as you come in. It's classic. "STAY ON THE ROAD OR STAY OUT"!

Here's some video of the MEN AT WORK! :)

Okay, so onto SUNDAY. We came home from the cabin to go to church and I gave Corbin a much needed haircut that morning. I had to take a picture of my handsome boys. I even made them put their church clothes back on for the picture! And like troopers they obeyed MOM! :)
Here's some video of Grandma Jessop singing a song for SHalyce. In fact, it's her favorite song. She grabs Linda's hands and wants her to repeat it over and over! Linda didn't know I recorded this, so "sorry" but this is for memories! In fact I think I'll just post a picture instead of the video so she doesn't wring my neck. Actually, she wouldn't wring it, she's too nice. However if she wasn't so nice I would post it in a jiffy:) SO this is ME being NICE...:)...
I know, I'm such an angel! :)

So later Sunday we went to Kanab to visit Tyler & Grandma Marvalee! I forgot to bring my camera! Lately with this blogging addiction I've been pretty good about packing around the camera, which is a good thing, but I slacked off on Sunday. We spend the night Sunday night and spend Monday in Kanab, too. The boys started off the day shooting skeet, then rabbits, followed by a blow snake attack on Tyler! I wish I would have been there to see him squeal like a girl! :) HE HE! Mom, Shalyce, and me stopped by for a while to watch them shoot skeet. My mom showed off her shotgun skills and I recorded her on video getting her only bullseye shot! I need to get that video posted on here. I also only got 1 bullseye under my belt, and a big bruise on my shoulder, and headache to follow. So we ditched the gunfightin gang, and went shopping over at Duke's in Kanab. I got a cute denim skirt. Then the rest of my day was over at Katie's picking out cute flowers she makes! She has them over at Christensen's, also. "Clips of Madi's Garden". Here's a pic of Shalyce today wearing her cute flower for the day! Isn't she such a doll! I think so! I KNOW SO! I think we made a record today with her keeping her flower headband on! Almost all day, minus nap time! YAY! I never played with barbies but now I am getting the whole "dress-up" bug with my little lovely ShalyceePoo!

Click on this link and listen to these words of this song. IT"S CLASSIC! I am so glad my man's STILL A GUY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcXh0Qv_-Zk
This will be your best time online today when you listen to this! :) For instance, I can't stand to watch men tuck their hair behind thier ears, worry about how their hair looks, worry about being "in style", etc. GAG ME NOW! My guy isn't afraid to get his hands dirty or greasy to get down and fix something. I'm glad I am the one dressing him and him not going shopping for himself. To him, a shirt is a shirt, pants are pants, matching is optional, and - quite frankly - I'm happy about that fact! Anyway, this song is hilarious and very truthful and dedicated to Dave!

Well look at this pretty pony! She was such a doll at the show, and it was her first show, too! I entered about 10 classes but only got through 2 with her until my back popped in the middle of a class. :( I'd explain, but it won't make much sense to most of you. She broke from a lope to a nasty rushy trot that popped my lower rib (or what it felt like). I'm feeling better today, but now we're gonna have to work with a crop for any time she breaks to a trot. I'm excited to show her some more after we get that problem taken care of:)! My back's feeling totally better now.

Well I helped Tyler with his video thing to try to win some votes from his peers at school for his student body president presentation. Looks like it worked! I'm sure it is all because of my sweet movie making skills :) HA HA! Congrats, Ty!

When your daddy and mom both have blue eyes, you're pretty much destined to have blue peepers, too!
Also, did you ever want to be in 3 places at the same time? Talk to Corbin, he's an expert! Consultations are $100/hour or they are free if you bring a transformer to the meeting!

I just melt each time I see her gorgeous baby blues!
Now onto the more sad stuff, SHalyce had her MMRV shot 10 days ago, and that explains the last 3 days of fevers (finally broke yesterday morning) and her measles-like rash. We went to the Dr. today, since she's a part of a study, and he checked out her rash and said it was just part of the shot. So in case anyone wants to know what measles looks like, take a gander here! She doesn't have measles, just the rash (which isn't itchy or anything, just unsightly). So, no, she isn't contageous of anything :)

Shalyce is putting just about everything in her mouth right now as she's trying to break a baby molar! I happened to have the camera right next to me when I saw her stickin' a sock in it!

Here's another cute pose she does. She often tips her head side, shoulder to shoulder with a cute little grin and here's a cute picture of that, too!

Oh and how about this cute grin, just being happy to be on Daddy's lap! I love her little grin! She has her daddy's grin, and Corb, I believe has my smile! All teeth for us! Cute little pursed lips for them!

Dave just called me about 20 minutes ago. I asked him "What's Up?" Because he doesn't get much time to call me during the day..maybe hoping he was on his way home, getting off early, to get ready for the campout tonight...but Nope. "I'm trying to unlock the car"...Silence...Now I really don't know how many times he's done this, but it seems like WAY too many times in 6 months! He even bought a spare key holder that has a magnet on the back of it so you can stick it to the outside of your car in case you lock your keys in the car..but that lovely gadget is INSIDE the car in the CUP HOLDER! After he did it the 1st 2nd and 3rd times I became IRATE! Thinking WHY DO YOU LEAVE THE STINKIN' keys in the CAR! Put them in your POCKET, BOY! But since I'm sitting comfortably home, not waiting with children on my hip to get in the car, I just had to lovingly LAUGH :)! I love my man! Now, I hope this doesn't nip me in the butt with my good luck of NOT locking my keys in the car! I thought this cartoon TOTALLY was quite accurate!

Yep, I'm 28 now, still in my 20's and trying to savor that thought as good as I can, because as soon as you hit 30 you're ancient! (that's for all of my old fogie friends in thier 30's) ha ha! My dad sent me tickets to go see "Wicked" down in Hollywood in June. I'm excited! It's a story about the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz, her story growing up, so I'm told. Tonight the boys are going to Fathers & Sons campout, so the gals are gonna do our own thing tonight! Thanks to y'all for callin on my b-day, and thanks for all past flavors!

Okay, so Dave's not great at keeping secrets and surprises, and he spilled the beans tonight. He's already arranged for 10 tons of dirt to be brought in next week! WOW I love him!

Saturday, May 3, 2008

I want more dirt for my arena more than I'd rather have any diamond, (I'd sell a diamond for some dirt and a horse or two). I have 1/4 of my arena filled in with some dirt, (back in December) but the rest of it is just crying out to me! I can't do what I need to do for training the horses with the crappy clay ground that I have. It's already been abusing the horses' legs out here. Kinda like us running on cement all day. I keep bugging Dave about more dirt, and with my birthday coming up, I think it would be awesome if my blog friends could drop a hint to him :). His email address is onelinloyd@hotmail.com by the way. I seriously don't want anything else for my birthday except DIRT! I have so many exercises I want to do with the horses, but since I do care about them not having soundness and lameness issues in the future, I will not do the hard stuff on the HARD GROUND. So yeah, any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated:)

My cool brother is vice-president of his junior class this year, and he is going to run for student body president soon. SOOOO... I need some cool ideas for him for his running and skit! I know all of you have much more creative minds than me, so chip in if you have a second! :)
